WBA Announces Winner of 2013 Scholarship Award

The Woodlands, Texas – The Woodlands Bar Association is proud to announce that Javier Perea is the winner of the WBA’s 2013 Future Lawyers Scholarship program. Mr. Perea is a senior at Conroe High School/Academy of Science and Health Professions in Conroe, Texas, and at the time of selection was ranked 17 in a class of 713.

Mr. Perea was chosen not only for his stellar academic record, but also for his outstanding resume of leadership positions, including Student Body President, Vice President of the Academy of Science and Health Professions Student Union, AP Ambassadors Program, and LEO Club Director, in addition to extra-curricular activities, volunteering in the community, and internships with the City of Conroe Assistant Prosecutor. Mr. Perea has been accepted at the University of Houston and intends to major in Political Science.

The recipient of the WBA’s Future Lawyers Scholarship is chosen based upon financial need, academic achievement, community involvement, and demonstration of a strong desire to pursue a legal career. The scholarship opportunity was open to all graduating high school seniors who were residents of The Woodlands and/or Montgomery County at the time of application, regardless of the high school attended.
