The Woodlands Bar Association announces three different pro bono opportunities coming up in the next month.
First, Lone Star Legal Aid seeks a pro bono attorney for a disabled resident of Montgomery County who is seeking a simple divorce (no children/no property). She is currently living with and assisting her mother who is also disabled. The parties were married in 2008 and separated in 2012. If you have an interest in representing this client in her divorce, please contact Dana Bias, pro-bono coordinator for Lone Star Legal Aid at DBias@lonestarlegal.org, or call her at 1-800-354-1889 Ext. 1522.
Second, the Montgomery County Legal Aid Collaborative (MCLAC) needs three or four pro bono volunteers for their second free legal clinic on September 30, 2016 from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. MCLAC is an organization consisting of Lonestar Legal Aid, the Woodlands Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, Exxon Mobil Law Department, Montgomery County Law Library and groups who wish to provide legal aid to eligible low-income Montgomery County Citizens. The legal clinic will be held on September 30, 2016 from 12:30-4:00 pm and will be located at the Montgomery County Law Library, 301 N. Thompson, Suite 105 (Conroe, TX) (across from the old courthouse). If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Patricia Chapman at firstname.lastname@example.org
Third, the Woodlands Bar Association is holding their monthly call-in LawLine event on October 3, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. LawLines is held at the Montgomery County United Way, located at 1600 Lake Front Circle, Suite 248, The Woodlands, TX. We are looking for three pro bono volunteers to attend the event and provide legal guidance to the Montgomery County citizens who call in.
Thank you for volunteering–and thank you for your service to our community.
