The Woodlands Bar Association (WBA) is accepting applications for three Future Lawyers scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors in Montgomery County. Public, private and home school seniors are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have aspirations of becoming a lawyer after completion of their undergraduate degrees, be in good standing with their current schools and be attending a four-year college in Fall 2020.
The WBA awards one Future Lawyer Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 in honor of Ida G. Stewart and two Future Lawyer Scholarships in the amount of $2,250 each in honor of Kevin T. Shea. Ms. Stewart and Mr. Shea are former WBA Board members who contributed so much to the WBA and the local community. These scholarships seek to recognize and encourage a spirit of community involvement and good citizenship in the Woodlands and surrounding areas and allows the WBA to support the next generation of Montgomery County lawyers.
The deadline to apply is March 2, 2020. The WBA will select scholarship recipients based upon financial need, academic performance, extracurricular activities, citizenship and community involvement, a demonstrated strong desire to pursue a legal career and recommendations.
