4th Annual Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest-DEADLINE Sept. 29, 2017

WBA Members, the Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Inc. (DRC-MC) announced the 4th Annual Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest.  The art contest rules (in Spanish and English) and a bookmark template are attached. Note:  The template should only be printed in landscape format.  Students may submit original art work drawn directly on the printed template if they don’t want to have to worry about bookmark measurements.

The contest is open to all Montgomery County students in grades K-8 regardless of whether they are in public school, private school or are being home schooled.  All original entries must be received in the DRC-MC office on or before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017, but anyone seeking an extension of this deadline due to Hurricane Harvey should immediately contact the DRC-MC at (936) 760-6914 to discuss their request for an extension.  Judging will take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 and the Conflict Resolution Day Bookmark Art Contest Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.   Please help the DRC-MC spread the word about the contest by passing the attached contest information on to as many schools, organizations and families as possible.

If you would like to be a judge for the art contest, please call Elaine Roberts, Executive Director DRC-MC, (936) 760-6914 know as soon as possible.  Since the art is judged on content as well as artistic ability, the DRC-MC seeks community leaders as part of  the judging panels; judging only takes 1-2 hours to complete and art expertise is not necessary.

If you are unable to attend the judging on October 6, 2017, you are invited to join DRC-MC and the participants for the Awards Ceremony on October 20, 2017 to watch the student winners receive their prizes from Judge Kathleen Hamilton.  This event is always a special occasion.  The DRC-MC is also accepting donations at www.resolution-center.org to cover the cost of anti-bullying books which will be donated to Montgomery County schools in October 2017.

If you have any questions about the contest, judging or the Awards Ceremony, please contact Elaine Roberts, Executive Director DRC-MC, (936) 760-6914.  Thank you for your support and assistance.
